Was recorded it in or around 6 months at "the beat retreat" owned by Britt Wilson. Britt Wilson, a producer, composer, singer, guitarist and all around musical genius could not have pleased the band any more with his vision, knowledge, attention to detail, hard work and most importantly his patience. The album was mastered by Georgia Music Hall Of Famer Rodney Mills at "Rodney Mills' Masterhouse". To say it was a privilege to work with a living legend such as Mr. Mills is a vast understatement. We would like to thank our families, friends, Rodney and Britt for their support while recording this project. Many have struggled to put a classification on The Hushpuppies' style of music on "Songs From The Big House". All we can say is the songs traverse from good ole boys gone bad and white trash superheroes getting by and running free down a hwy called 25 so LISTEN to our album and put your troubles on a train and find blue skies on redneck saturday nights while dancing with the one you love in this old town. “RUFF TRACKS” Recorded with the backing
of KLM Investments “Ruff Tracks” is considered a prelude to The
Pups next album. With the changing
music industry, IPOD mania, etc recording a record is just not the same. What’s most important is getting the
material recorded and out to the fans and friends period.… These songs
have a rougher sound and a more true blue approach to down home Southern
Honky Tonk.
These songs were crafted from playing year after year in club after
club. We have listened to the people
and we represent them with these songs.
“Lovelight” is nothing more than a bar rocker and
that’s all we wanted it to be.
Somewhere between Bob Seger and Delbert McClinton this will rock your socks off I promise. A crowd favorite for a long time we finally
got this on cd and hope it indeed turns on your
“Lovelight”. “That Ain’t
Country” is
a song that says no matter how country you are “It ain’t
country enough”. It’s
about searching for that truer Southern Rock and Country sound. “ _______________________________________ DVDS “LIVE AT THE BUCKHEAD SALOON”
